Lotto Hotpicks – Overview
In the UK National Lottery portfolio, after the UK Lotto and Thunderball, Lotto Hotpicks is the next most prominent game offered by Camelot which was introduced into the range of games available in 2002.
It is an interesting game that differs from the way most traditional draw-style lotteries work. With Lotto Hotpicks, you have the chance of winning bigger prizes for picking and matching fewer numbers – something that all lottery players love to hear!
The main jackpot prizes on Lotto Hotpicks are £130,000 if you match 5 numbers correctly.
Lotto Hotpicks is known amongst UK National Lottery games as being 5 games in 1 as it offers you 5 different ways to play the game – each way providing different payouts and odds.
How It Works…
Lotto Hotpicks actually uses the same numbers that are drawn in the UK National Lottery main Lotto game but with this game, you choose not only the numbers themselves as normal but also the number of balls that you wish to match up with (up to a maximum of 5 balls).
In order to win on the Lotto Hotpicks, you will need to match all of the numbers that you have chosen.
In other words, if you have chosen to match just 1 number and that number is drawn – you are a winner. If you have chosen to match the maximum of 5 numbers and they are all drawn, then you are a Lotto Hotpicks jackpot winner.
So, first of all, you need to decide which day you wish to play on – the Wednesday draw or Saturday’s draw. Then decide how many numbers you would like to pick and play with out of the main UK Lotto numbers 1 to 49.
You can chose to match just 1 number, 2 numbers, 3 numbers 4 numbers or a maximum of 5 numbers from the numbers drawn on the main Lotto.
Once you have decided this, use the appropriate Lotto Hotpicks game to play – Pick 1, Match 1 – Pick 2, Match 2 – Pick 3, Match 3 – Pick 4, Match 4 or Pick 5, Match 5.
A “Lucky Dip” facility is available when playing Lotto Hotpicks, the same as with the UK National Lotto, Thunderball and very similar to the “Quick Pick” facility that is used in many USA lotteries & Canadian lotteries.
In this game, you just select the number of matches and the computer will randomly select the appropriate amount of numbers for you.
The cost of playing Lotto Hotpicks is just £1.00 regardless of the number of matches you select to play with.
Who Can Play?
At the current time, only resident citizens of the United Kingdom are able to play the Lotto Hotpicks game online. However, if you are purchasing a ticket on the streets in Great Britain, then it is possible for people who live overseas to play this National Lottery game.
As with the UK Lotto & Thiunderball, there is a slightly lower age limit than for most countries - you only need to be 16 years of age to be eligible to purchase a ticket for any of the Lotto Hotpicks game.
