Tennessee Lottery Powerball
The Tennessee Lottery is 1 of 47 US State Lotteries & District Lotteries that offer the Powerball game – in this case the TN Powerball – as part of its overall portfolio of lottery games.
Powerball is a Multi-State USA Lottery that is run by the Multi State Lottery Association – MUSL – and is one of the largest lottery games in the world having produced a record jackpot in January 2016 of an incredible US$ 1.58 BILLION. The very first Powerball draw took place on April 22nd 1992 with 16 USA Lottery companies – who were all members of the MUSL – taking part when the game changed its format and name from Lotto America which had started on February 13th 1988.
The Tennessee Powerball was first offered on April 21st 2004 when the Tennessee Lottery became a member of the MUSL – Multi State Lottery Association – who run and syndicate the game across the majority of the USA.
TN Powerball – How it Works
The TN Powerball works in the same way as the Powerball game works in all the States and Districts in the US that offer the game.
Jackpots start off at US$ 40 Million and ROLLOVER after each draw when the top prize is not won – increasing in size by at least US$ 10 Million each time – making for some enormous jackpot figures.
6 numbers are drawn in total for the Tennessee Powerball game from 2 separate drawing machines – firstly 5 numbers are drawn from 59 white balls and then 1 number (the Powerball) is drawn from 35 red balls.
Draws for the Tennessee Powerball Lottery take place twice every week on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9.59pm CST – 10.59pm EST.

TN Powerball – How to Play
The aim when playing is to correctly select as many Powerball winning numbers as possible – and with 9 different ways in which you can win on the Tennessee Powerball Lottery – you have a great chance of winning a prize.
There are generally 4 ways that you can play the TN Powerball…
1. Pick 5 of your own main (white ball) numbers from 1 to 59 plus your 1 Power Ball (red ball) number from 1 to 35.
2. Pick 5 of your own main (white ball) numbers from 1 to 59 and use the Quick Pick option to let the computer choose your Power Ball (red ball) number for you from 1 to 35 – using a computer powered random number generator.
3. Use the Quick Pick option to let the computer pick your 5 main (white ball) numbers from 1 to 59 using a random number generator – and then select your own Power Ball (red ball) number from 1 to 35.
4. Use the Quick Pick option to let the computer choose both your 5 main (white ball) numbers from 1 to 59 and also your 1 Power Ball (red ball) number from 1 to 35 using its random number generator.

POWERPLAY…
For just an extra dollar – you can choose to increase your Tennessee Powerball Lottery winnings on all levels except the jackpot – by adding the Powerball POWER PLAY option when playing the TN Powerball.

TN Powerball – Record Jackpots
The biggest Tennessee Powerball jackpot that has been won to date was the massive US$ 259.8 Million top prize that was won on June 11th 2014 by Roy Cockrum from Knoxville.
The 2nd biggest Tennessee Powerball jackpot win so far occurred on Wednesday 4th November 2015 on a ticket that was bought in Antioch securing the hefty US$ 144.1 Million top prize.
The 2nd largest TN Powerball jackpot to have been won so far has been the US$ 25.5 Million won on March 30th 2005 in South Pittsburg by husband and wife – Richie and Bobbi Hubbard – who had used the Quick Pick option to pick their Powerball numbers.
TN Powerball – How Prizes are Paid
If you have won a TN Powerball jackpot – you will be able to claim your prize as either a cash lump sum or as an annuity payment – you will need to make this choice within 60 days of the date of your claim.
If you choose the annuity option – your TN Powerball winnings will be paid to you in 30 installments over a 29 year period.
For all prizes on the TN Powerball – you will have 180 days from the date of the draw taking place – to make your claim before your Powerball ticket will become invalid.
If your win on the Powerball Tennessee is up to US$ 599 – you will be able to claim your winnings at any Tennessee Lottery retailer, TNLottery district offices or by mail.
If you’ve won between US$ 600 to US$ 199,999 on the Powerball TN – you can claim your prize at one of the TN Lottery district offices in Nashville, Memphis, Knoxville or Chattanooga – at the TN State Lottery Headquarters or by mail.
