Tennessee Lottery Mega Millions
The Tennessee Lottery is 1 of 46 US State Lotteries & District Lotteries that offer the huge Mega Millions game – in this case the Tennessee Mega Millions – as part of its overall portfolio of lottery games.
The Mega Millions is a Multi-State USA Lottery that is run and operated by the Mega Millions Consortium – who administer and syndicate the game across the USA and is one of the largest lottery games in the world – having produced a massive record jackpot of a huge US$ 656 MILLION in March 2012. TN Mega Millions – How it Works
The Tennessee Mega Millions works in exactly the same way as the Mega Millions game works in all the States and Districts in the US that offer the game.
Jackpots start off at US$ 40 MILLION and ROLLOVER after each draw when the top prize is not won – making for some enormous jackpot figures.
6 numbers are drawn in total for the Tennessee Lottery Mega Millions from 2 separate drawing machines – firstly 5 numbers are drawn from 70 white balls and then 1 number from 25 gold balls (Megaballs) are drawn.
Draws for the TN Mega Millions take place twice every week on Tuesdays and Fridays at 10.00pm CST (11.00pm EST).
In addition to the 6 Mega Millions numbers drawn – a further number is drawn – using a Random Number Generator…the Mega Millions MEGAPLIER number…
MEGAPLIER…
This separate MEGAPLIER prize multiplier number drawn will be either 2, 3, 4 or 5 – and is there to give players of the Mega Millions Tennessee a chance to increase their winnings on all levels of the prize structure apart from the Tennessee Mega Millions jackpot itself.
With MEGAPLIER – you are able to multiply your winnings on these levels by 2x, 3x, 4x or 5x – greatly increasing the amount you can walk away with.

The aim when you are playing is to correctly select as many of the Mega Millions winning prize numbers as possible – and with a total of 9 different ways in which you can win on the Tennessee Lottery Mega Millions – you have a great chance of winning a prize.
There are generally 4 ways you can play the TN Mega Millions…
1. Pick 5 of your own main (white ball) numbers from 1 to 70 plus your 1 Mega Ball (gold ball) number from 1 to 25.
2. Pick 5 of your own main (white ball) numbers from 1 to 70 and use the Quick Pick option to let the computer choose your Mega Ball (gold ball) number for you from 1 to 25 – using a lotto number picker / random number generator.
3. Use the Quick Pick option to let the computer pick your 5 main (white ball) numbers from 1 to 70 using a random number generator – and then pick your own Mega Ball (gold ball) number from 1 to 25.

MEGAPLIER…
For just an extra dollar – you can choose to increase your Tennessee Mega Millions winnings on all 8 prize levels except the jackpot itself– by adding the MEGAPLIER option when you are playing the Tennessee Mega Millions.

TN Mega Millions – Record Jackpots
The biggest Tennessee Mega Millions jackpot win to date was achieved by Bettina Still and her son Jonathan – both from Nashville – when the top prize had reached US$ 61 Million on January 3rd 2014. This landmark win was the first jackpot to have been won on the Mega Millions lottery in Tennessee.
TN Mega Millions – How Prizes are Paid
If you have won a Tennessee Lottery Mega Millions jackpot – you will be able to claim your prize as either a cash lump sum or as an annuity payment – you will need to make this important choice within 60 days of the date of your claim.
If you choose the annuity option – your Tennessee Mega Millions winnings will be paid to you annually over a 30 year period.
For all prizes on the Tennessee Mega Millions – you will have up to 180 days from the date of the draw taking place – to make your claim before your Mega Millions ticket will become invalid.
