Texas Mega Millions Lottery
The Texas Lottery is 1 of 46 US State Lotteries & District Lotteries that offer the Mega Millions game – in this case the Texas Mega Millions – as part of its overall portfolio of lottery games.
The Mega Millions is a Multi-State USA Lottery game that is run and operated by the Mega Millions Consortium – who administer and syndicate it across the USA and is one of the largest lottery games in the world – having produced a massive world record jackpot in March 2012 of US$ 656 MILLION. Jackpots start off at US$ 40 MILLION and ROLLOVER after each draw when the top prize is not won – making for some enormous jackpot figures to be won on the TX Mega Millions.
6 numbers are drawn in total for the Texas Mega Millions – from 2 separate drawing machines – firstly 5 numbers from 70 white balls are drawn and then 1 number (the MEGAball) from 25 gold balls.
Draws for the Mega Millions Texas take place twice every week on Tuesdays and Fridays at 10.00pm CST (9.00pm MST).
In addition to the 6 Mega Millions numbers drawn – a further number is drawn – using a Random Number Generator…the Mega Millions MEGAPLIER number…
MEGAPLIER…
This separate MEGAPLIER prize multiplier number drawn will be either 2, 3, 4 or 5 – and is there to give players of the Texas MegaMillions a chance to increase their winnings on all levels of the prize structure apart from the Texas Mega Millions jackpot itself.
With MEGAPLIER – you are able to multiply your winnings on these levels by 2x, 3x, 4x or 5x – greatly increasing the amount you can walk away with.
If you match the 5 main Mega Millions numbers playing with the MEGAPLIER add-on – and a MEGAPLIER number of 5 is drawn – the second tier prize of US$ 1 MILLION would be multiplied by x5 and you could win US$ 5 MILLION.
Texas Mega Millions – How to Play
The aim when you are playing is to correctly select as many of the Mega Millions winning prize numbers as possible – and with as many as 9 different ways in which you can win on the TX Mega Millions – you have a great chance of winning a prize.
There are principally 4 ways you can play the TX MegaMillions…
1. Pick 5 of your own main (white ball) numbers from 1 to 70 plus your 1 Mega Ball (gold ball) number from 1 to 25.
2. Pick 5 of your own main (white ball) numbers from 1 to 70 and use the
Quick Pick option to let the computer choose your Mega Ball (gold ball)
number for you from 1 to 25 – using a lotto number picker / random number generator.
3. Use the Quick Pick option to let the computer pick your 5 main (white ball) numbers from 1 to 70 using a random number generator – and then pick your own Mega Ball (gold ball) number from 1 to 25.
4. Use the Quick Pick option available to let the computer choose both your 5 main (white ball) numbers from 1 to 70 and also your 1 Mega Ball (gold ball) number from 1 to 25 using its random number generator.

MEGAPLIER…
For just an extra dollar – you can choose to increase your Texas Mega Millions winnings on all levels except the jackpot – by adding the MEGAPLIER option when playing the Texas Lottery Mega Millions.
If your chosen Texas Mega Millions numbers correctly match the Mega Millions winning numbers on any of these prize levels – you immediately increase your winnings by either 2, 3, 4 or 5 times – depending on what Mega Millions MEGAPLIER number was drawn.

Texas Mega Millions – Record Jackpots
The biggest amount paid out to date for a Texas Lottery Mega Millions jackpot win has been the fantastic US$ 144 Million that was won on January 29th 2010 by William R Kiefer from Katy. Texas Mega Millions – How Prizes are Paid?
If you have won a TX Mega Millions jackpot you can claim your prize as either a cash lump sum or as an annuity payment – you will need to make this choice when you purchase your ticket.
If you choose the annuity option – your Texas Mega Millions Lottery winnings will be paid to you annually over a 30 year period.
For all prizes on the Mega Millions Texas – you will have up to 180 days from the date of the draw taking place – to make your claim before your Texas Mega Millions ticket will become invalid.
