RI Powerball – Rhode Island Powerball
The Rhode Island Lottery is 1 of 47 US State Lotteries & District Lotteries that offer the Powerball game – in this case the RI Powerball – as part of its overall portfolio of lottery games.
Powerball is a Multi-State USA Lottery that is run by the Multi State Lottery Association – MUSL – and is one of the largest lottery games in the world having produced a record jackpot of US$ 1.58 BILLION in January 2016. Jackpots start off at US$ 40 Million and ROLLOVER after each draw when the top prize is not won – increasing in size by at least US$ 10 Million each time – making for some huge jackpot figures.
6 numbers are drawn in total for the Rhode Island Lottery Powerball game from 2 separate drawing machines – firstly 5 numbers from 59 white balls are drawn and then 1 number (the Powerball) from 35 red balls.
Draws for the Rhode Island Lottery Powerball take place twice every week on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10.59pm EST.

POWERPLAY…

RI Powerball – Record Jackpots
The biggest jackpot to have been won to date on the Rhode Island Lottery Powerball has been US$ 336.4 Million won by Louise White on February 11th 2012 in the name of the "Rainbow Sherbert Trust".
This is the largest jackpot ever won to date in the history of Rilot and at the time was the 3rd largest Powerball jackpot ever to have been won.
The 2nd largest Rhode Island Powerball jackpot prize to be won so far has been the massive US$ 151.9 Million that was claimed by Sheila Botelho from Swansea, MA on November 28th 2007. Sheila had bought her Powerball ticket at the Warren Mart, 428 Child Street, Warren, RI.
Another notable Rhode Island Lottery Powerball jackpot was won on March 7th 2012 when US$ 60 Million was won by Kathleen Last from Smithfield, RI in the name of the "Ohana Trust".
RI Powerball – How Prizes are Paid
If you have won an RI Powerball jackpot – you will be able to claim your prize as either a cash lump sum or as an annuity payment – you will need to make this choice within 60 days of the draw. With the annuity option – your Powerball Rhode Island winnings will be paid to you in 30 payments over a 29 year period.
For all prizes on the RI Powerball – you will have 365 days from the date of the draw taking place – to make your claim before your Powerball ticket will become invalid.
If your win on the Rhode Island Powerball is up to US$ 599 – you will be able to claim your winnings at any RI Lottery retailer.
If you’ve had a win of US$ 600 or more on the Rhode Island Lottery Powerball – you will need to claim your prize from the Lottery RI Headquarters in Cranston.
