New Mexico Mega Millions
The New Mexico Lottery is 1 of 46 US State & District Lotteries that offer the huge Mega Millions game – in this case the New Mexico Mega Millions – as part of its overall portfolio of lottery games.
The Mega Millions is a Multi-State USA Lottery that is run and organized by the Mega Millions Consortium – who administer and syndicate the game right across the United States of America and is one of the largest lottery games in the world – having produced a massive world record jackpot of a truly astonishing US$ 656 MILLION in March 2012. NM Mega Millions – How it Works
The NM Mega Millions works in exactly the same way as the Mega Millions game works in all of the other 46 States and Districts in the USA that offer the game.
Jackpots start off at US$ 40 MILLION and ROLLOVER after each draw when the top prize is not won – making for some enormous jackpot figures.
6 numbers are drawn in total for the NM Mega Millions from 2 separate drawing machines – firstly 5 numbers from 70 white balls are drawn plus 1 number (the MEGA Ball) from 25 gold balls is drawn.
Draws for the New Mexico Mega Millions take place twice every week on Tuesdays and Fridays at 9.00pm MST (10.00pm CST / 11.00pm EST).
In addition to the 6 Mega Millions numbers drawn a further number is drawn – using a Random Number Generator – the MEGAPLIER number…
MEGAPLIER…
This separate MEGAPLIER prize multiplier number drawn will be either 2, 3, 4 or 5 – and is there to give players of the Mega Millions New Mexico a chance to increase their winnings on all levels of the prize structure apart from the Mega Millions jackpot itself.
With MEGAPLIER – you are able to multiply your winnings on these levels by 2x, 3x, 4x or 5x – greatly increasing the amount you can walk away with.
If a player matches the 5 main Mega Millions numbers playing with the MEGAPLIER add-on – and a MEGAPLIER number of 5 is drawn – the second tier prize of US$ 1 MILLION would be multiplied by x5 and they could win US$ 5 MILLION.

The aim when you are playing is to correctly select as many of the Mega Millions winning numbers as possible – and with a grand total of 9 different ways in which you can win on the New Mexico Mega Millions – you have a great chance of winning a prize.
There are principally – 4 ways in which you are able to play the Mega Millions New Mexico…
1. Pick 5 of your own main (white ball) numbers from 1 to 70 plus your 1 MEGA Ball (gold ball) number from 1 to 25.
2. Pick 5 of your own main (white ball) numbers from 1 to 70 and use the
Quick Pick option to let the computer choose your MEGA Ball (gold ball)
number for you from 1 to 25 – using a lottery number picker / random number generator.
3. Use the Quick Pick option to let the computer pick your 5 main (white ball) numbers from 1 to 70 using a random number generator – and then pick your own MEGA Ball (gold ball) number from 1 to 25.

MEGAPLIER…
For just an extra dollar – you can choose to increase your Mega Millions winnings on all prize levels except for the jackpot itself – simply by adding the MEGAPLIER option when you are playing the New Mexico Mega Millions.

NM Mega Millions Winners
Even though the New Mexico Lottery has only been selling Mega Millions tickets since January 31st 2010 – there have already been numerous lucky NM Lottery Mega Millions winners...
The biggest prize won to date on the New Mexico Mega Millions has been the US$ 1 Million won on June 5th 2012 by Danny Garcia from Veguita. Danny had played with the MegaPlier option and increased his standard Mega Millions 2nd prize win from a great US$ 250,000 by 4 times.
The 2nd biggest prize to be on so far on the NM Mega Millions was won by Raechel Halwood from Fruitland who scooped a Mega Millions 2nd prize of US$ 250,000 on March 30th 2012 by matching the 5 main Mega Millions numbers.

NM Mega Millions – How Prizes are Paid
If you have won a New Mexico Mega Millions jackpot – you will be able to claim your prize as either a cash lump sum or as an annuity payment. If you choose the annuity option – your NM Lottery Mega Millions winnings will be paid to you annually over a 30 year period.
For all prizes on the New Mexico Mega Millions – you will have up to 90 days from the date of the draw taking place – to make your winning claim before your Mega Millions tickets will become invalid.
If your NM Mega Millions win is up to US$ 600 – you will be able to claim your winnings at any NMLottery retailers or by mail to the NM State Lottery Headquarters.
If you’ve had a win of between US$ 601 and US$ 99,999 on the NM Mega Millions – you will need to claim your prize from the NMLottery Headquarters in Albuquerque.
If you have been lucky enough to win a New Mexico Mega Millions prize which is more than US$ 100,000 – or a jackpot prize – you will need to claim your prize in person at the New Mexico State Lottery Headquarters in Albuquerque.
