NH Lottery Mega Millions
The New Hampshire Lottery is 1 of 46 US State Lotteries & District Lotteries that offer the huge Mega Millions game – in this case the NH Mega Millions – as part of its overall portfolio of lottery games.
The Mega Millions is a Multi-State USA Lottery that is run and operated by the Mega Millions Consortium – who administer and syndicate the game across the USA and is one of the largest lottery games in the world – having produced an astonishing world record jackpot of a huge US$ 656 MILLION in March 2012. This massive amount was shared between 3 winning Mega Millions tickets from Illinois, Kansas and Maryland and is the 2nd biggest ever jackpot won in the history of world jackpot lottery games.
The very first Mega Millions draw took place on May 17th 2002 with 6 USA Lottery companies taking part who were all members of the Mega Millions Consortium.
The game had changed its name and format from the Big Game which had first started back on August 31st 1996. Upon this change – 2 further State Lottery companies joined and more would follow.
Tickets for the New Hampshire Mega Millions were first sold on January 31st 2010 when the Multi State Lottery Association (MUSL) who run the Powerball game – of which the NH Lottery is a member – entered into a cross-selling agreement with the Mega Millions consortium – thus allowing the sales of Mega Millions in Powerball states and Powerball in Mega Millions states.
NH Mega Millions – How it Works...
The NH Mega Millions works in exactly the same way as the Mega Millions game works in all the States and Districts in the US that offer the game.
Jackpots start off at US$ 40 MILLION and ROLLOVER after each draw when the top prize is not won – making for some enormous jackpot figures.
6 numbers are drawn in total for the New Hampshire Mega Millions from 2 separate drawing machines – firstly 5 numbers from 70 white balls are drawn and then 1 number (the MEGAball) from 25 gold balls.
Draws for the NH Mega Millions take place twice every week on Tuesdays and Fridays at 11.00pm EST.
In addition to the main Mega Millions numbers drawn – a further number is drawn – using a Random Number Generator…the Mega Millions MEGAPLIER number…
MEGAPLIER…
This separate MEGAPLIER prize multiplier number drawn will be either 2, 3, 4 or 5 – and is there to give players of the New Hampshire MegaMillions a chance to increase their winnings on all levels of the prize structure apart from the NH MegaMillions jackpot itself.
With MEGAPLIER – you are able to multiply your winnings on these levels by 2x, 3x, 4x or 5x – greatly increasing the amount you can walk away with.
If a player matches the 5 main Mega Millions numbers playing with the MEGAPLIER add-on – and a MEGAPLIER number of 5 is drawn – the second tier prize of US$ 1 MILLION would be multiplied by x5 and they could win US$ 5 MILLION.
NH Mega Millions – How to Play...
The aim when you are playing is to correctly select as many of the Mega Millions winning prize numbers as possible – and with up to 9 different ways in which you can win on the New Hampshire Mega Millions – you have a great chance of winning a prize.
There are generally 4 ways you can play the NH Mega Millions…
1. Pick 5 of your own main (white ball) numbers from 1 to 70 plus your 1 Mega Ball (gold ball) number from 1 to 25.
2. Pick 5 of your own main (white ball) numbers from 1 to 70 and use the Quick Pick option to let the computer choose your Mega Ball (gold ball) number for you from 1 to 25 – using a lottery number picker / random number generator.
3. Use the Quick Pick option to let the computer pick your 5 main (white ball) numbers from 1 to 70 using a random number generator – and then pick your own Mega Ball (gold ball) number from 1 to 25.
4. Use the Quick Pick facility available to let the computer choose both your 5 main (white ball) numbers from 1 to 70 and also your 1 Mega Ball (gold ball) number from 1 to 25 using its random number generator.

MEGAPLIER…
For just an extra dollar – you can choose to increase your New Hampshire Lottery Mega Millions winnings on all 8 levels except the jackpot itself – by adding the MEGAPLIER option when playing the New Hampshire Mega Millions.
If your chosen NH Mega Millions numbers match the Mega Millions winning numbers on any of these prize levels – you immediately increase your winnings by either 2, 3, 4 or 5 times – depending on what Mega Millions MEGAPLIER number was drawn.

NH Mega Millions – Biggest Winners...
Even though the NewHampshireLottery has only been selling NH Mega Millions tickets since January 31st 2010 – there have already been some big New Hampshire Mega Millions winners.
The biggest win to date on the New Hampshire Mega Millions has been the 2nd prize win of US$ 250,002 won in July 2012 by Michael Cleasby from Whitefield.
There have been numerous other Mega Millions 2nd prize wins in New Hampshire such as the US$ 250,000 won in March 2012 by Raymond Devone from Salisbury and another US$ 250,00 won in the same month by Theodore Turmel from Hudson.
Claudette Billodeau from Bedford also won US$ 250,000 on the NH Mega Millions in November 2011 as did John Mlocek from Salem in September 2010.
There have also been various US$ 100,000 wins on the New Hampshire Mega Millions.
It will surely only be a matter of time before there is a jackpot win on the NH Lottery Mega Millions.
NH Mega Millions – How Prizes are Paid...
If you have won a New Hampshire Mega Millions jackpot – you will be able to claim your prize as either a cash lump sum or as an annuity payment – If you choose the annuity option your NH Mega Millions winnings will be paid to you annually over a 30 year period.
For all prizes on the Mega Millions NH – you will have 365 days from the date of the draw taking place – to make your claim before your Mega Millions ticket will become invalid.
If your New Hampshire Mega Millions win is up to US$ 599.99 – you will be able to claim your winnings at any NHLottery retailer or by mail.
If you’ve had a win of US$ 600 or more on the NH Mega Millions – you will be able to claim your prize from the New Hampshire Lottery Headquarters in Concord, NH or by mail with a prize claim form.
