Powerball Missouri – Powerball MO
The Missouri Lottery is 1 of 47 US State Lotteries & District Lotteries that offer the Powerball game – in this case the Missouri Powerball – as part of its overall portfolio of lottery games.
Powerball is a Multi-State USA Lottery that is run by the Multi State Lottery Association – MUSL – and is one of the largest lottery games in the world having produced a record jackpot in Janusry 2016 of an incredible US$ 1.586 BILLION. The very first Powerball draw took place on April 22nd 1992 with 16 USA Lottery companies – who were all members of the MUSL – taking part when the game changed its format and name from Lotto America which had started on February 13th 1988.
The Missouri Powerball began operations on April 22nd 1992 when the Powerball game began – the MO Lottery having already become the 7th member to join the MUSL (Multi State Lottery Association ) who run and syndicate the game across the USA – back on October 16th 1987.
MO Powerball – How it Works
The MO Powerball works in the same way as the Powerball game works in all the States and Districts in the US that offer the game.
Jackpots start off at US$ 40 Million and ROLLOVER after each draw when the top prize is not won – increasing in size by at least US$ 10 Million each time – making for some enormous jackpot figures.
6 numbers are drawn in total for the Missouri Powerball game from 2 separate drawing machines – firstly 5 numbers are drawn from 59 white balls and then 1 number (the Powerball) is drawn from 35 red balls.
Draws for the Missouri Powerball Lottery take place twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9.59pm CST (10.59pm EST).

MO Powerball – How to Play
The aim when playing is to correctly select as many Powerball winning numbers as possible – and with 9 different ways in which you can win on the Missouri Powerball Lottery – you have a great chance of winning a prize.
There are generally 4 ways you can play the MO Powerball…
1. Pick 5 of your own main (white ball) numbers from 1 to 59 plus your 1 Power Ball (red ball) number from 1 to 35.
2. Pick 5 of your own main (white ball) numbers from 1 to 59 and use the Quick Pick option to let the computer choose your Power Ball (red ball) number for you from 1 to 35 – using a computer powered random number generator.
3. Use the Quick Pick option to let the computer pick your 5 main (white ball) numbers from 1 to 59 using a random number generator – and then select your own Power Ball (red ball) number from 1 to 35.
4. Use the Quick Pick option to let the computer choose both your 5 main (white ball) numbers from 1 to 59 and also your 1 Power Ball (red ball) number from 1 to 35 using its random number generator.

POWERPLAY…
For just an extra dollar – you can choose to increase your Missouri Powerball Lottery winnings on all levels except the jackpot – by adding the Powerball POWER PLAY option when you are playing the MO Powerball.
If your chosen MO Powerball numbers match the latest Powerball winning numbers on any of these prize levels – you will immediately increase your winnings by either 2, 3 or 4 times – depending on what Missouri Power Ball prize you have won.
If you are lucky enough to match all 5 of the main Powerball winning numbers – the POWERPLAY multiplier will immediately double your prize to US$ 2 Million.

MO Powerball – Record Jackpots
The biggest jackpot win to date on the Missouri Powerball has been a half share of the record US$ 587.5 Million jackpot won on November 28th 2012 by 2 tickets from Missouri and Arizona.
Cindy and Mark Hill were the lucky Powerball winners from Dearborn, Missouri who scooped a massive US$ 293.75 Million with the winning powerball numbers of 5, 16, 22, 23, 29, and a Powerball of 6. The same amount again was won by Matthew Good from Arizona who shared this historic win.
This unimaginable jackpot figure is the 3rd biggest ever to have been won in the history of jackpot lottery games around the world.
The 2nd largest jackpot to have been won on the Missouri Power Ball so far has been the US$ 258.5 Million won by Christopher Shaw from Marshall on April 21st 2010.
The 3rd largest MO Power Ball jackpot prize to date has been the very impressive sum of US$ 254 Million which was won on January 24th 2007 by the Wilson family from St.Louis.
April 12th 2006 saw the 4th largest MO Power Ball jackpot win take place when US$ 224.2 Million was won by the Lucky 13 State Workers from Florissant.
The very first MO Powerball win was on December 23rd 1992 when US$ 5.2 Million was won by Ruth House from St.Ann – a record, of course, at the time.
MO Powerball – How Prizes are Paid
If you have won an MO Powerball jackpot – you will be able to claim your prize as either a cash lump sum or as an annuity payment – you will need to make this choice within 60 days from the date of the draw.
If you choose the annuity option – your Missouri Powerball winnings will be paid to you in 30 installments over a 29 year period.
For all prizes on the MO Powerball – you will have 180 days from the date of the draw taking place – to make your claim before your MO Powerball ticket will become invalid.
If your win on the Missouri Powerball Lottery is less than US$ 600 – you should be able to claim your winnings at most Missouri Lottery retailers and also from Lottery MO offices or by mail.
If you’ve had a win of more than US$ 600 on the MO Powerball – you will need to complete an Missouri Lottery winners claim form and claim your prize at one of the Lottery Missouri offices or by mail.
