Illinois Powerball – Powerball Illinois
The Illinois Lottery is 1 of 47 US State Lotteries & District Lotteries that offer the Powerball game – in this case the Illinois Powerball – as part of its overall portfolio of lottery games.

The Illinois Lottery Powerball works in the same way as the Powerball game works in all the States and Districts in the US that offer the game.
Jackpots start off at US$ 40 Million and ROLLOVER after each draw when the top prize is not won – increasing in size by at least US$ 10 Million very time – making for some huge jackpot figures.
6 numbers are drawn in total for the Illinois Lottery Powerball game from 2 separate drawing machines – firstly 5 numbers from 69 white balls are drawn followed by 1 number (the Powerball) from 26 red balls.
Draws for the Illinois Powerball Lottery take place twice every week on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9.59pm CST (10.59pm EST)

Illinois Lottery Powerball – Record Jackpots
The biggest win on the Illinois Lottery Powerball to date was won by Ted Baumgartner from Freeport on March 30th 2013 when the jackpot had climbed to a high of US$ 50 Million.
The 2nd highest Illinois Powerball jackpot won so far was half of the US$ 37.5 Million jackpot shared with a Kentucky Lottery winner on December 11th 2010. US$ 18.75 Million was won by a family from Oak Park who decided to remain anonymous and claimed their prize under the name of the "Shim Partnership".
This historic win was the first Powerball Jackpot to have been won in Illinois and came just under a year after the Illinois Lottery first began selling Powerball tickets on January 31st 2010.
Illinois Lottery Powerball – How Prizes are Paid
If you have won an Illinois Powerball jackpot – you will be able to claim your prize as either a cash lump sum or as an annuity payment – you will need to make this choice within 60 days of the date of your claim.
If you choose the annuity – your Illinois Lottery Powerball winnings will be paid to you in 30 installments over 29 years.
For all prizes on the IL Powerball – you will have 365 days from the date of the draw taking place – to make your claim before your Illinois Lottery Powerball ticket will become invalid.
If your win on the Powerball IL is up to US$ 600 – you will be able to claim your winnings at any of the Illinois Lottery retailers.
If you’ve had a win of between US$ 600 to US$ 1 Million on the Illinois Powerball – you will be able to claim your prize by going to any of the IllinoisLottery retailers and validating your ticket – then mailing the claim form in.
If you have won up to US$ 25,000 on the Powerball Illinois – you can also claim your prize by visiting one of the IL Lottery prize centers in Chicago, Springfield, Des Plaines, Fairview Heights or Rockford.
If you are lucky enough to win an Illinois Lottery Powerball jackpot – you will need to make your claim by calling the Lottery Illinois claims office.
