The DC Lottery is 1 of 16 US District & State Lotteries that offer the Multi State lottery – Hot Lotto – in this particular case the DC Hot Lotto – as part of the overall Washington DC Lottery portfolio of games.

Hot Lotto is a Multi-State USA Lottery that is run and operated by the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL) – who administer and syndicate the game across the United States of America. Draws for the Hot Lotto are made from the Multi State Lottery Association (MUSL) offices in Urbandale, West Des Moines, Iowa.

Tickets for the DC Hot Lotto were first sold on April 5th 2004 – the Washington DC Lottery becoming the 7th member of the MUSL to offer the Hot Lotto game.

Hot Lotto DC – How it Works

The Hot Lotto DC works in the same way as the Hot Lotto game works in all the 16 States and Districts in the USA that offer it.

Jackpots start off at US$ 1 Million and ROLLOVER after each draw the top prize is not won – increasing in size by a minimum of US$ 50,000 each time – making for some very large jackpots.

6 numbers are drawn in total for the DC Hot Lotto by a random number generator – firstly 5 numbers from 47 and then from a second set of numbers – 1 number from 19 (the HOT ball) is drawn.

Draws for the Hot Lotto DC take place twice every week on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9.59pm EST (8.59pm CST).

With the Hot Lotto SIZZLER feature – players will automatically multiply their winnings on these levels by 3x – greatly increasing the amount they will walk away with.
