Florida Powerball – Powerball Florida
The Florida Lottery is 1 of 47 US State Lotteries & District Lotteries that offer the Powerball game – in this case the Florida Powerball – as part of its overall portfolio of lottery games.

The Florida Lottery Powerball works in the same way as the Powerball game works in all the States and Districts in the US that offer the game.
Jackpots start off at US$ 40 Million and rollover after each draw when the top prize is not won – increasing in size by a minimum of US$ 10 Million each time – making for some huge jackpot figures.
6 numbers are drawn in total for the Florida Power Ball game from 2 separate drawing machines – firstly 5 numbers are drawn from 69 white balls and then 1 extra number (the Powerball) is drawn from 26 red balls.
Draws for the Florida Powerball Lottery take place twice every week on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10.59pm EST.

Florida Lottery Powerball – Record Jackpots
The State of Florida holds the current record for not only the biggest Powerball jackpot win ever but also the biggest lottery win ever to be achieved on a single lottery ticket.
This historic Powerball win occurred on May 18th 2013 when Gloria C. MacKenzie – an 84 year old from Zephyrhills, Florida scooped an amazing US$ 590.5 Million.

The 3rd biggest jackpot win so far on the Florida Power Ball was achieved by the "Carvajal Family Group" from Kissimmee on February 26th 2011 when they scoopd a huge US$ 182.1 Million.
The 3rd largest win to date on the Florida Power Ball went to Elizabeth Choras-Hanna from Hollywood on July 10th 2010 when she successfully matched the Powerball winning numbers and won a great jackpot of US$ 73.8 Million.

Florida Lottery Powerball – How Prizes are Paid
If you have won an Power Ball Florida jackpot – you will be able to claim your prize as either a cash lump sum or as an annuity payment and if you choose the cash lump sum option – you will need to claim your prize within 60 days from the date of the draw.
If you choose the annuity option – your Florida Powerball winnings will be paid to you annually over a 29 year period.
For all prizes on the FLA Powerball – you will have 180 days from the date of the draw taking place – to make your claim before your Powerball ticket will become invalid.
If your win on the Florida Powerball Lottery is up to US$ 599.99 – you should be able to claim your winnings at any Florida State Lottery retailer or by mailing your ticket to the FLA Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee.
