DE Lottery Powerball
The Delaware Lottery is 1 of 47 US State Lotteries & District Lotteries that offer the Powerball game – in this case the Delaware Lottery Powerball – as part of its overall portfolio of lotto games.

6 numbers are drawn in total for the DE Powerball game from 2 separate drawing machines – firstly 5 numbers from 69 white balls are drawn and then 1 number (the Powerball) from 26 red balls.
Draws for the Powerball Delaware take place twice every week on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10.59pm EST.

The aim when playing is to correctly select as many Powerball winning numbers as possible – and with 9 different ways in which you can win on the Delaware Powerball Lottery – you have a great chance of winning a prize.

POWERPLAY…

Delaware Powerball – Record Jackpots
The overall record jackpot to date for a Delaware Power Ball win – has been US$ 214.7 Million that was won on October 9th 2004 by a group of 33 employees from Seaford who shared the top prize.
A fairly recent big Delaware Power Ball jackpot win occurred on February 28th 2009 when 2 good friends shared half the huge Powerball jackpot of US$ 174.4 Million – netting US$ 87.2 Million – the 8th Delaware Lottery Powerball jackpot win paid out.
Prior to this – the Delaware Lottery produced a Delaware Lottery Powerball winner in 2001 when Kathleen Kearney from Hockessin and her brother from Pittsburgh won US$ 73.8 Million – a third share of the overall jackpot.
Another sizeable jackpot win on the Delaware Lottery Powerball was the recent US$ 50 Million won on October 3rd 2012 by ticket purchased in Wilmington. The winners elected to remain anonymous.
Delaware Powerball – How Prizes are Paid
If you have won a DE Powerball jackpot – you will be able to claim your prize as either a cash lump sum or as an annuity payment – if you choose the annuity option – your Delaware Powerball winnings will be paid to you in 30 installments over 29 years.
For all prizes on the Delaware Powerball Lottery– you will have up to 365 days from the date of the draw taking place – to make your claim before your Powerball ticket will become invalid.
If you have won any prize up to US$ 599 on the Delaware Powerball – you can claim your prize from any DE Lottery retailer or by mail to the Delaware State Lottery Office.
If your Delaware Power Ball win is between US$ 600 & US$ 5,000 – you will be able to claim your winnings at 1 of 3 DelawareLottery Division of Revenue offices in Wilmington, Dover or Georgetown.
