Colorado Lottery Mega Millions
The Colorado Lottery is 1 of 46 US District & State & Lotteries that offer the huge and popular Mega Millions game as part of its overall lottery portfolio – in this case the Colorado Mega Millions.

CO Mega Millions – How it Works...
The Colorado Lottery Mega Millions works in exactly the same way as the Mega Millions game works in all the States and Districts in the US that offer the game.
Jackpots start off at US$ 40 MILLION and ROLLOVER after each draw when the top prize is not won – making for some enormous jackpot figures.
6 numbers are drawn in total for the Colorado Mega Millions from 2 separate drawing machines – firstly 5 numbers from 70 white balls are drawn and then 1 number (the MEGAball) from 25 gold balls.
Draws for the Colorado Lottery Mega Millions take place twice every week on Tuesdays and Fridays at 9.00pm MST (11.00pm EST).
In addition to the 6 Mega Millions numbers drawn – a further number is drawn – using a Random Number Generator…the Mega Millions MEGAPLIER number…

The aim when you are playing is to correctly select as many of the Mega Millions winning prize numbers as possible – and with up to 9 different ways in which you can win on the Colorado Mega Millions – you have a great chance of winning a prize.
There are generally 4 ways you can play the CO Mega Millions…
1. Pick 5 of your own main (white ball) numbers from 1 to 70 plus your 1 Mega Ball (gold ball) number from 1 to 25.
2. Pick 5 of your own main (white ball) numbers from 1 to 70 and use the Quick Pick option to let the computer choose your Mega Ball (gold ball) number for you from 1 to 25 – using a lotto number generator / random number generator.
3. Use the Quick Pick option to let the computer pick your 5 main (white ball) numbers from 1 to 70 using a random number generator – and then pick your own Mega Ball (gold ball) number from 1 to 25.
4. Use the Quick Pick option available to let the computer choose both your 5 main (white ball) numbers from 1 to 70 and also your 1 Mega Ball (gold ball) number from 1 to 25 using its random number generator.

MEGAPLIER…
For just an extra dollar – you can choose to increase your Colorado Mega Millions winnings on all levels except the jackpot – by adding the MEGAPLIER prize multiplier option when playing the CO Mega Millions.
If your chosen CO Mega Millions numbers match the Mega Millions winning numbers on any of these prize levels – you increase your winnings immediately by either 2, 3, 4 or 5 times – depending on what Mega Millions MEGAPLIER number was drawn.

CO Mega Millions Winners...
Even though the Colorado Lottery has only been selling Mega Millions tickets since May 16th 2010 – there have already been some lucky Colorado Lottery Mega Millions winners.
There may not have been any Mega Millions jackpot prizes won as yet in Colorado but there have indeed been numerous Mega Millions 2nd prizes won...

CO Mega Millions – How Prizes are Paid...
If you have won a Colorado Mega Millions jackpot – you can claim your prize as either a cash lump sum or as an annuity payment – you will need to make this choice at the date of your claim.
If you choose the annuity option – your Colorado Lottery Mega Millions winnings will be paid to you annually over a 30 year period.
For all prizes on the CO Mega Millions – you will have 180 days from the date of the draw taking place – to make your claim before your Mega Millions ticket will become invalid.
If your win on the Colorado MegaMillions Lottery is up to US$ 599 – you will be able to claim your winnings at most Colorado Lottery retailers, at Colorado Lottery offices and at the CO Lottery Headquarters.
If you’ve had a win of more than US$ 599 on the Mega Millions Colorado – you will need to claim your prize from one of the ColoradoLottery offices at Grand Junction, Denver, Fort Collins or the Pueblo Headquarters.
