"The Pick - The Flagship USA Lottery Game from the Arizona Lottery"
The AZ Lotto is operated by the Arizona government.
It started back in November 1980 and the first lottery tickets went on sale in July 1981. These tickets were scratch-offs called “Scratch It Rich” and all 21.4 million of them sold out within the first 10 days of being put on sale. They were the only tickets available from the Arizona Lottery until 1984 when their first jackpot game was launched.
At the time the Arizona State Lottery first began, it was the only western US State to have its own in-house lottery.
This US State Lottery is unique amongst nearly all of the USA Lottery games because the citizens of Arizona can vote every few years as to whether the games can continue or not. The last vote took place on 2002 when voters voted in favour of keeping the Arizona State Lottery – the next vote is due to take place around the year 2035.
Arizona is also a member of the Multi State Lottery Association and includes the Powerball and Mega Millions amongst its overall portfolio of lottery games.
Its other games include Fantasy 5, Pick 3, Weekly Winnings, 2by2 plus various scratchers and the States’ main jackpot game which we will be looking at in more detail here, “The Pick”….
The Pick is the Arizona Lottery flagship game – it started in 1984 and is still going as strong today as when it first started.
The Pick jackpot starts off at US$ 1 MILLION and every time that it is not won it will rollover and increase in value.
You can buy lottery tickets in Arizona State for The Pick between the hours of 4am and 12 Midnight every day. On draw days – ticket sales cease at 7.59pm in winter time or 6.59 pm in summer time after which times you can get tickets for the following draw.
Arizona The Pick has twice weekly draws which take place on both Wednesdays and Saturdays at approximately 7.00 pm local time and you can watch the draw take place live on television.
The Pick from the AZ Lotto uses what’s known as a 6/44 matrix which means that when playing The Pick, you will first need to select 6 numbers out of a pool of numbers ranging from 1 to 44 – if you match all 6 numbers drawn then you will be a AZ Lottery jackpot winner.
There are 3 other levels of cash prizes to be won too, if you match either 5 of the numbers drawn, 4 numbers or even just 3.
A Quick Pick facility is available when you play Arizona Lottery games similar to the Easy Pick of the MUSL Powerball or the Lucky Dip that is used in the UK National Lottery and Europe’s EuroMillions – which means that you can get the computer terminal to select your AZ lotto numbers for The Pick if you wish.

As with most US Lotteries – in the past only citizens living in the State of Arizona were allowed to play in any of the Arizona Lottery games including The Pick and tickets had to be purchased from an authorized lottery ticket retailer based in Arizona.
Now however – with the very welcome presence of genuine online lottery ticket sales companies such as TheLotter, you are able to pick your Arizona Lottery numbers online and purchase your tickets and it doesn’t matter where in the world you live.
This is excellent news if you live outside of Arizona and the U.S.A. but you want to buy lottery tickets online for The Pick and guarantee your entry into the next draw or just simply wish to enjoy the convenience of getting your lottery tickets online.
Once you have entered into the The Pick, you are then easily able to check your AZ Lottery results online to see how you have done and to find out if you have become one of the lucky AZ Lotto winners.
You must be 21 years of age to be eligible to purchase a ticket for any of the Arizona State Lottery games including The Pick. The minimum age was originally 18 years but was increased by the ArizonaLottery on June 1st 2003.
