Sabah 88 – 4D88 – Lotto88
Another of the principal Toto Malaysia and Malaysia Lottery companies to look at closely is Lotto88 which is based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, East Malaysia.
Lotto88 is run and operated by the Diriwan Corporation which is – in turn – managed by the Lotteries Corporation and has 40 agencies throughout the state of Sabah.
The Lotteries Corporation was founded on August 6th 1988 hence its name of Lotto88. It is also referred to locally as Sabah 88, Lotto 88 & Sabah Lotto 88.
Sabah 88 not only offers Toto Malaysia 4D and 3D games but also a western style Malaysia Lottery – all of which we shall see below.
Sabah Lotto – Lotto88
The first game offered by Sabah 88 and the Lotteries Corporation to look at is the Sabah Lotto – a jackpot lotto – similar to most USA Lottery and European Lottery games.
The Sabah Lotto 88 uses a standard matrix of 6/45+1 which means that Lotto88 draw 6 main numbers out of a range from 6 to 45 followed by 1 Additional Number out of the same number set which is used to determine the winners on levels 2,4 and 6.
When you play Sabah Lotto – you will first need to select your own 6 numbers out of that range of numbers from 1 to 45. If you should successfully match all 6 of the main winning Sabah Lotto numbers you will be the winner of a Sabah Lotto Jackpot 1 prize.
You can also ask the computer or retailer to pick your numbers for you using the random number generator – Quick Pick – option.
The Sabah Lotto Jackpot 1 prize always starts off at a minimum of RM 500,000 and will rollover – increasing in size every time the top prize is not won. There is no limit to big the jackpot can grow!
Unusually for a lottery – the Sabah Lotto 88 second prize which is known as Jackpot 2 and begins at RM 5,000 – will also rollover and increase in size for every draw that there are no winners.
There are a total of 7 different prize categories that you can win on the Sabah Lotto – for matching all 6 of the main numbers, 5 of the main numbers plus the Additional Number, 5 of the main numbers, 4 of the main numbers plus the Additional Number, 4 of the main numbers, 3 of the main numbers plus the Additional Number or even for matching just 3 of the main numbers.
The odds of you winning a Sabah Lotto Jackpot 1 prize for picking all 6 of the main winning lottery numbers are 1 in 8,145,060.
The cost to play Sabah Lotto is RM 1 for a standard entry – this will give you 2 lines meaning 2 separate chances of winning.
Sabah 88 and the Lotteries Corporation draw the Sabah Lotto 3 times every week at 7.05pm on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays with Special Draws held on 2 Tuesdays each month.
The biggest Sabah Lotto jackpot 1 prize to have been won to date has been RM 2.32 MILLION which was won on May 7th 2013.
The 2nd largest jackpot 1 prize that has been won on the Sabah Lotto so far has been RM 2.04 MILLION won on July 19th 2009.
Sabah 4D – 88 4D – Lotto88
Probably the most popular game offered by Sabah 88 is its own Malaysia 4D – called the Sabah 4D – also known as Sabah 88 4D and shortened to the 88 4D or 4D88.
The Sabah 88 4D is a typical Toto Malaysia game of 4 Digits and works in the same way as other well known 4D Malaysia games such as the Magnum 4D, Sports Toto 4D and DaMaCai 1 3D.
For each 88 4D game – Sabah 88 and the Lotteries Corporation draw 23 separate winning numbers each comprised of 4 Digits.
These 23 individual winning prize numbers create a 1st prize number, a 2nd prize number and 3rd prize number – followed by 10 Lucky prize numbers and then 10 Consolation prize numbers.
When you play 88 4D – you will first need to make your own selection of 4 Digits from 0 to 9 to produce a 4 Digit number from the number range of 0000 to 9999. You will win an 88 4D prize if you successfully match 1 or more of the 88 4D numbers drawn.
You
can choose to play the Sabah 4D – 88 4D – by using either a Big
Bet or a Small Bet forecast with a minimum bet of RM 1.
The Big Bet forecast gives you
much better odds of winning a prize but the Small Bet forecast allows you to win bigger prizes.
With
the Big forecast – you are playing to win on the full 23 separate 88 4D
prize categories – whereas with the Small forecast you play just
for the top 3 prize categories – 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
The
top prize to be won on the Sabah 4D 88 by playing using the BIG forecast is RM 2,500 – whereas the top
prize to be won for the same stake playing with the SMALL forecast is a higher
RM 3,500.
The odds of winning on the 4D88 are 1 in 10,000 for the 1st, 2nd or 3rd prize, 1 in 1,000 for either a Lucky prize or a Consolation prize. Overall odds of winning any prize on the 88 4D ar 1 in 435.
The Lotteries
Corporation and Sabah 88 conduct the 88 4D draw 3 times each week on
Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays with Special Draws generally on 2 Tuesdays throughout the month.

Sabah 3D – Lotto88
Sabah 88 & the Lotteries Corporation also offer a 3D Malaysia game as part of its Toto & Lotto portfolio.
Aside from Lotto88 the only other Toto Malaysia company to offer a game of 3 Digits is DaMaCai – the Pan Malaysia Pools – and the Sabah 3D works in exactly the same way as the DMC 3D.
The Sabah 3D is a standard Malaysia Toto game of 3 Digits and as such – 3 sets of 3 Digit numbers are drawn to produce the 3 winning numbers for the 1st prize, 2nd prize and 3rd prize.
When you are playing the Sabah 3D – you will need to choose your own 3D number by selecting 3 Digits from the number range of 0 to 9 producing a 3 Digit number that is between 000 and 999.
Unlike the Sabah 4D88 – or the 3D PMP from the Pan Malaysia Pools – you will not need to make a choice between using a BIG or SMALL bet as you are only playing for one of the top 3 prizes.
The 1st prize to be won on the Lotto88 Sabah 3D is RM 500 – with the 2nd prize being RM 100 and a 3rd prize of RM 300. The odds of you winning any of these Sabah 3D prizes is 1 in 1,000.
